Who we are
In short, we are a registered charity created and led by medical students, and our mission is to reduce the impact of cancer on all Canadians.
To do so, we develop and operate programs such as the Coda Comfort Crew, where trained volunteers provide direct psychosocial support to cancer patients during their chemotherapy treatments. We accumulate hundreds of hours of companionship every single month!

What makes us special
We are all volunteers. Every single one of us, including our Board of Directors, our management, our members, etc. Noone gets paid a single cent for their work. We are all here for the same reason, the same mission, the same passion. It makes it a lot easier to know where your donations are going!

What we do
We are constantly working on new programs and services to offer to cancer patients. One of the impacts we are achieving is to introduce young people to the medical field, hoping that their first interactions with patients will ignite a desire to pursue a career in healthcare.
Additionally, integrating volunteering into their weekly schedule establishes a sense of engagement that will be reinforced year after year, thus creating a cohort of young adults dedicated to their community.

How funds are managed
To ensure that donors' funds are exclusively used to further our purpose either directly or indirectly, we've set up a finance department with multiple layers of verification so no discrepancy goes unnoticed. Every department member receives comprehensive training to perform their specific tasks.
We've also created a strict financial policy that all of our members must abide to. Any and all breaches of this policy, including misappropriation and loss of donors' funds, will result in immediate expulsion and will be reported to the relevant authorities.
